PowerSchool Parent Portal

Powerschool Technical Issue:
Powerschool has corrected the issue regarding the creation of parent/guardian accounts.  Parents are strongly encouraged to create their own unique login so that they can access the additional email notification area. 

PowerSchool Parent Portal gives parents and students access to real-time information including attendance, grades and detailed assignment descriptions, and personal messages from the teacher.  Everyone stays connected:  Students stay on top of assignments and parents are able to participate more fully in their student's progress.

At this time the Parent Portal is only available to Derby Middle School students and their parents.  District wide availability is planned for the Fall of 2010.  The parent portal will be disabled during summer recess while scheduling is done. 

Prior to logging in, parents will need to create a parent/guardian account.  Students can login immediately using their username and password provided in the letter that was mailed home. 

To create a parent/guardian account, click on the  button.  The User Name and Password you create here will then be used to login to the Parent Portal on your next visit.  To link a student to your account, you will need the Access ID and Access Password for that child that was mailed home to you. 

Not all areas of the Parent Portal are operational at this time.  Available areas include:

The Teacher Comments area is currently not showing comments.  Teacher Comments can be found on the 'Grades and Attendance' and 'Grades History' pages.  You can find the comments by clicking on the reporting period score for the appropriate class. 

The School Bulletin and Class Registration are not used at this time.  The Class Registration tab may have course requests entered but in no way indicates your student's schedule for the upcoming school year.  Course requests are entered on behalf of the students through the guidance department in the spring and are used as a basis for scheduling purposes.
